The SP version of the new RR-R added electronically controlled Öhlins NPX fork and TTX36 shock, Brembo Stylema front calipers, a quickshifter and a titanium Akrapovic silencer. Its engine used titanium conrods and finger-follower valve gear borrowed from MotoGP practice, making it the most focused road Fireblade Honda had built.
