The 1991 CBR600F2 was an all-new replacement for the Hurricane, with an oversquare, more compact and higher-revving engine good for around 100 hp, a stiffer frame, shorter wheelbase and wider 17-inch radial tyres. It kept the original's blend of comfort and usability while moving the performance level up a class. It swept the 600 comparison tests and won the AMA 600 SuperSport title in its first seasons.
