For 2018 the Africa Twin gained throttle-by-wire with three riding modes and a wider torque-control range, plus a revised airbox, lighter balancer shafts and a new exhaust for sharper mid-range response. A lithium-ion battery and stainless spokes trimmed around 2 kg, and block-pattern tyres became approved fitment.
