The second-year CRF450 Rally was an HRC evolution of the 2013 bike with more engine output, improved aerodynamics, better durability and reduced maintenance, and Honda also offered it to private teams as a production racer. At the 2014 Dakar, Joan Barreda won five stages and Sam Sunderland one, though navigation errors, a penalty and late electrical trouble left Barreda seventh overall.
