The CT90 replaced the pushrod CT200 in 1966, keeping its Super Cub-based step-through trail layout but switching to an 89 cc overhead-cam engine. The original dual rear sprocket gave way to a lever-shifted two-range sub-transmission in 1967, and in 1969 the leading-link front end was replaced by a telescopic fork, along with a standard rear rack. It ran until 1979, when the CT110 took over.
