The CX500 Deluxe was introduced in 1979 as a near-twin of the original CX500, sharing its engine and chassis. It differed in detail with a revised headlight and instruments, different wheel colours and sizes, and no headlamp cowl. It proved so popular that it effectively displaced the standard CX500.
