The CX500E, known as the Eurosport, was the sportiest 500 cc CX, built for European tastes in 1982. It gained an air-assisted fork with TRAC anti-dive, a Pro-Link single-shock rear end, 18-inch wheels with a rear disc, an automatic cam-chain tensioner and a small handlebar fairing with restyled bodywork. It was a short-lived model, succeeded by the CX650E the following year.
