For 1984 the CX650E continued essentially unchanged, still built around the 673 cc liquid-cooled, shaft-driven V-twin with its pushrod four-valve heads. It remained a practical middleweight all-rounder with a small fairing, Pro-Link rear end and twin front discs, aimed at riders who valued low running costs and long service intervals over outright pace.
