The Interstate was the full touring version of the Valkyrie, using the same 1520 cc flat-six but adding a fork-mounted fairing, radiator pods, saddlebags and a rear trunk. Honda also gave it a larger fuel tank, a stiffer frame, better shocks, an AM/FM radio and intercom wiring, with CB radio and fog lamps offered as extras. It gave Valkyrie owners Gold Wing-style touring kit while keeping the cruiser's looks, but it was dropped after 2001 to leave only the standard model.
