The Silver Wing 400 was Honda's answer to the popular 400 cc maxi-scooter class in Europe, built on the same frame and bodywork as the 600 but with a smaller, fuel-injected parallel twin. It was the only twin-cylinder machine in its class at the time and was priced to match its single-cylinder rivals. With a twin-shock rear end, linked brakes and about 55 litres of under-seat space, it was aimed at commuters who also wanted to tour.
