1979 was the final year of the one-litre Gold Wing, known as the K4 or, in the UK, the KZ. It carried the retuned low-rev engine and added black paint with gold pinstripes, a chrome exhaust and a redesigned dummy tank with a gauge console. The following year the GL1100 took over with a bigger engine and a new chassis.
