The SE-i replaced the 1985 Limited Edition as the flagship GL1200 for 1986, keeping its fuel-injected engine and luxury equipment. It was offered only in pearl white, and its main changes were a Dolby-equipped audio system, a higher-output alternator to feed the electrics and a more comfortable seat. It was sold only in the USA and lasted a single season.
