The GL500 Silver Wing was Honda's North American middleweight tourer built around the CX500's liquid-cooled pushrod V-twin, but in a new chassis with Pro-Link rear suspension and an air-assisted fork. This unfaired version had a single front disc and could carry a small trunk that swapped places with the passenger seat. It was a smooth, economical and dependable mount, more about comfort than speed.
