The NS 125F was launched by Honda Italia at the December 1984 Bologna show and sold from April 1985, a sharp break from the plain four-stroke 125s Honda had offered in Italy. Its reed-valve, liquid-cooled two-stroke used Honda's ATAC exhaust chamber to boost midrange, in a square-tube cradle frame with Italian Marzocchi suspension and Grimeca brakes. It was a strong seller in Italy, though UK testers felt the 12 bhp learner-restricted version was overpriced.
