The 1988 MC18 was the second-generation NSR250R, announced in November 1987 and sold from January 1988. It brought new bodywork, revised electrics and suspension, bigger brakes, six-spoke wheels and computer-controlled PGM carburation, with the engine mounted further forward and lower.
