The NV400SP took the 52-degree, three-valve V-twin from the NV400 Custom and wrapped it in a sportier, European-flavoured roadster with a larger tank and 18-inch wheels front and rear. It carried an inboard ventilated front disc like the CBX400F, boomerang-spoke alloy wheels and came only in white and red. Sales in Japan were weak, and its idea of a sporty V-twin roadster was later picked up by the Bros series.
