The T4 was one of four flat-six-engined custom concepts commissioned by Honda R&D America in Torrance, California, to let designers work free of mass-production constraints. Built by fabricator Mike McCluskey over roughly two years, it featured a three-piece welded aluminium spar frame, a billet swingarm with exposed driveshaft, a huge drag-slick rear tyre and a brushed, clear-coated finish with flush Allen hardware. It was a styling and craftsmanship exercise linked to the thinking behind the 2002 VTX rather than a production preview.
