The TL125 Bials was Honda's first proper production trials bike, launched in Japan early in 1973 and sold in the US and Europe as the TL125. It used the SL125 SOHC single with lower compression for soft, tractable low-speed pull, a high-clearance frame and a 21-inch front wheel, but kept lights and a seat so it could be ridden on the road. Its success helped start Honda's serious trials programme, with Sammy Miller involved from 1974.
