The VF400F (NC13) brought Honda's new liquid-cooled 90-degree V4 to the 400 cc class at the end of 1982, giving it the most power in its class at the time. It was a naked bike with a small bikini fairing, a 16-inch front wheel, inboard ventilated discs, TRAC anti-dive and air-assisted suspension at both ends with Pro-Link at the rear. The 90-degree V cancels primary vibration, so it needed no balancer shaft.
