The VF500F was Honda's smallest Interceptor for North America and Europe, built around a 498 cc liquid-cooled V4 developed from the Japanese VF400F. It had a half fairing with a lower cowl, a 16-inch front wheel and air-assisted suspension. Period tests praised its free-revving engine and neutral, confident handling, but found the riding position cramped.
