The ACE (American Classic Edition) arrived for 1995 as an Ohio-built, Harley-styled take on the Shadow 1100. Its main change was a single-crankpin crankshaft that gave the V-twin a lumpier, more traditional beat at the cost of around 10 hp, plus full fenders, a wide tank, staggered shotgun pipes and a fat 170-section rear tyre. Testers praised its finish and neutral cornering but wanted more front-brake bite and rear suspension travel.
