The VT1100C3 Shadow Aero joined the range for 1998 as the most retro of the 1100 Shadows, sharing the ACE's single-crankpin V-twin and chassis but with a longer wheelbase, deeply valanced fenders, floorboards, wire wheels and a big two-into-one exhaust. Testers liked its looks, exhaust note, suspension and strong top-gear pull, but found the floorboard and seat layout tiring on long rides.
