The VT500C Shadow was the cruiser member of Honda's 1983 VT500 family, sharing the liquid-cooled 52-degree three-valve V-twin, six-speed box and shaft drive with the Euro and Ascot. It had an 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel and a stepped seat. The 1984 model got colour-matched tank and rear guard, and the 1985-86 bikes a round headlight, a two-piece seat with backrest, chromed engine covers and twin horns.
