The later VT500E Euro carried on the same 491 cc shaft-drive V-twin roadster with no significant mechanical change, keeping its reputation for reliability and low running costs; it was among Britain's best-selling 500s. Updates over its life were mainly paint and graphics, with the EF designation arriving for 1986.
