In its final run the Shadow VLX remained Honda's lowest and most approachable cruiser, still using the 583 cc twin-plug V-twin, four-speed gearbox and O-ring chain in a long-wheelbase steel cradle frame. The hardtail-style rear with its concealed shock, wide 15-inch rear tyre and chrome details carried the custom look, and Honda backed it with an accessory range of shields, bags and chrome parts.
