The Deluxe version of the 2002 Shadow VLX was mechanically the same 583 cc chain-drive cruiser as the standard bike, with the same hardtail-look monoshock chassis and low seat. What set it apart was dress-up: more chrome on the engine cases and valve covers, spoked wheels and a more custom-styled seat, aimed at buyers who wanted a classic look on a budget.
