The 2005 SP2 was mechanically unchanged; Wikipedia notes a black RVT colour scheme for the US model that year. It remained a raw, torque-rich 999 cc V-twin homologation special with twin injectors per cylinder, fully adjustable suspension and four-piston front calipers on 320 mm discs, now a road-going reminder of Honda's 2000 and 2002 World Superbike titles rather than a front-line racer.
