The XL Degree was a Japan-market trail bike that borrowed the liquid-cooled DOHC 250 single from the AX-1, retuned for a softer 25 PS and more low-down torque. With a 790 mm seat, 21/18-inch wheels and Pro-Link rear suspension it was pitched as an approachable dual-purpose machine. Changes over its run were mostly colours and badging until it was renamed simply Honda Degree in 1995.
