The 1987 XL250R was the final American-market year of Honda's long-running 250 XL dual-sport, unchanged in substance from the 1986 bike. It kept the twin-carb RFVC four-valve single, six-speed gearbox, Pro-Link rear end and drum brakes, and was succeeded the following year by the NX250.
