Honda file

The 1984 XL600R was almost unchanged from the launch model, gaining the XR500R's kickstarter, revised ignition timing and carburettor settings for easier starting and idling, and a new gear lever. In a Dirt Rider comparison against the Yamaha XT600 and Kawasaki KL600 it was judged the best dirt bike of the three, thanks to its short wheelbase, strong brakes and power. Complaints centred on a soft seat, low-speed stalling and nervous high-speed stability.
