1999 was the final year of the 583 cc XL600V before the 647 cc XL650V took over. It kept the twin front discs, non-adjustable long-travel suspension and twin chrome silencers of the late PD10 version, a softly tuned bike that favoured comfort and flexibility over outright pace.
