The XLR 125 replaced the older XL 125 in the late 1990s as Honda's small air-cooled four-stroke trail bike. It kept a 124 cc two-valve single but moved to a long-travel Pro-Link rear end and a front disc brake, with a tall 860 mm seat and a 21-inch front wheel. It was aimed at learners and riders who wanted a light, cheap dual-purpose bike.
