The XLR200R was launched alongside the XLR125R in 1993 as an easy, XR-styled trail bike for riders of all levels. Its 196 cc two-valve single had an electric starter, automatic cam-chain tensioner and low-maintenance air filter, and drove through a five-speed gearbox. Long-travel suspension, aluminium rims and a front disc gave it proper off-road ability, and it was replaced by the SL230 in 1997.
