The 1995-1996 XR200R continued with no significant mechanical changes, keeping the 195 cc two-valve air-cooled engine, six-speed transmission and Pro-Link rear end. With its low seat and mild power it was sold as an easy-going trail and family off-roader. It was a durable choice that responded well to suspension upgrades for riders who wanted more.
