The XR230 Motard turned Honda's light XR230 trail bike into a small supermoto for Japanese city riding, launched in March 2008. It swapped the 21/18-inch off-road wheels for 17-inch road tyres, used a 3 mm longer rear shock and steeper steering geometry to load the front, and added an aluminium bar, two-tone seat, black rims and fork tubes and a matt black frame. The 223 cc engine received the same catalyst and low-to-midrange tuning as the 2008 XR230.
