The 1984 XR350R continued the formula of the 1983 original: an air-cooled 339 cc RFVC single with twin carburettors, wet-sump lubrication, a six-speed gearbox and long-travel Showa suspension in a chrome-moly frame. It stayed a light, agile trail and enduro four-stroke that was easier to manage than the bigger XR500R. Its rivals were European four-strokes and the dominant two-strokes. It was the last year before the 1985 redesign.
