The 2016 update gave the XRE 300 a reinforced cylinder head, a new injection map and catalyst to meet tighter emissions rules. It also got larger fairings, a fuller digital dash and new switchgear, and Honda Brazil extended the warranty to three years. Output fell very slightly but fuel economy improved. An Adventure version with a silver tank arrived in 2017, and by 2018 combined ABS was standard on the Rally and Adventure models.
