The 1999 Africa Twin carried over mechanically unchanged from the previous year, keeping the 52-degree three-valve-per-cylinder V-twin, five-speed gearbox and long-travel Pro-Link suspension. Changes were limited to colours and graphics. It remained a comfortable, reliable two-up tourer with a dashboard trip computer styled on rally navigation gear.
