The GPz 1000RX was a larger, more powerful successor to the GPz900R, using a bored and stroked version of its liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve transverse four, now rubber mounted to reduce vibration. The 1986 model has a steel twin-spar frame, Uni-Trak rear suspension and AVDS-equipped forks. The page's writer found the engine strong across the rev range but the bike heavier and less manageable than the 900R, so it suited experienced riders.
