The 1989 KR-1 carries the same 249 cc two-stroke twin, air-assisted forks and Uni-Trak rear as the 1988 bike, rated at 55 hp. Its page frames the KR-1 against the KR-1S that followed in 1990. It is a high-revving race-replica style road machine.
