The 1974 - 75 S1 250SS MKI is the same small air-cooled two-stroke triple as the earlier S1, with a seat-and-tail fairing and a steel cradle frame. Kawasaki kept its 249 cc engine and drum-braked chassis largely unchanged for these years. Reviewers found the bike light and stylish, but its power was modest and it needed careful clutch use at low speed.
