The MkII enlarged Kawasaki's 903 four to 1015 cc, adding roughly 10 hp, larger 28 mm carburettors, revised cams and a stiffened headstock area. Suspension and chassis stayed conventional, and the bike trailed Suzuki and Honda in superbike performance until the fuel-injected GPz1100 arrived. Reviewers praised its brakes and durability but found it thirsty and harsh over bumps.
