The 1990-93 ZG 1000 Concours (GTR1000 in Europe) carried on the 997 cc shaft-drive sport-tourer with little change from the 1986 original. Its engine was derived from the GPz1000RX sports bike and gave strong mid-range but a fairly rough character. Road testers found the chassis dated and the front brakes under strain for such a heavy machine.
