The 2001-04 ZG 1000 Concours was the final run of the original 997 cc shaft-drive sport-tourer before the Concours 14 replaced it. It had changed little since 1994, with only minor updates such as fork protectors and exhaust tips. It remained known for its shaft drive, luggage and wind protection.
