The 2000 ZX-6R was the 'J series' update of the 599 cc supersport, with higher compression that lifted power to about 111-112 hp. It gained a 180 section rear tyre, a second headlight and stick coils, and kept the perimeter aluminium frame and carburettors. Its new 43 mm cartridge forks and 310 mm front discs set it apart from the 1998-99 bikes.
