A homologation special built around a 599 cc version of the ZX-6R engine so the bike could race in classes that capped inline-fours at 600 cc. Apart from the engine capacity it stayed close to the 2012 road bike, with a stiffer focus on lightweight construction and racing suspension. It was aimed mainly at ST600 competitors in Japan rather than at the general road market.
