The ZZ-R 1100 D in its 2000-2001 form was the last of Kawasaki's original 1100 cc ZZ-R sports-tourers before the ZZ-R 1200 replaced it. It kept the 1052 cc transverse four with four carburettors, a pressed aluminium frame and fully adjustable suspension. It was a fast, heavy road machine rather than a light sportbike.
