The ZZ-R 1200 replaced the ZZ-R 1100 as Kawasaki's large sports-tourer from 2002. It moved to a 1164 cc transverse four with a new aluminium perimeter frame, UNI-TRAK rear suspension and six-piston front calipers. Its aim was to combine high-speed touring with strong performance, and its specification is set out on this page.
