The original ZZ-R 600, a sports-tourer sold in Europe from 1990 (as the ZZR600 D1) and as the Ninja 600 or ZX-6E elsewhere. Its 599 cc liquid-cooled inline-four and aluminium frame were its main strengths, while the soft suspension and dated tyres were the usual criticisms in road tests.
