The first production 790 Duke, nicknamed The Scalpel: a smaller, more nimble sibling to the 1290 Super Duke R built around a new 799 cc LC8c parallel twin. The engine doubles as a stressed frame member, and the bike came with WP suspension, cornering ABS with a Supermoto mode and four riding modes. A 95 hp version was offered for European A2 licences.
